Description

Working as a team is one of the key skills to ensure both a healthy and productive work environment. This training will assist participants in examining their own unique talents and learning styles and how these contribute to the bigger picture of being a team member.

Purpose

The purpose of this training is to have participants discover their own strengths and challenges in working with the group dynamics of a team and to provide them with concrete tools and experiences to assist them in a fuller participation as a team member.

Objectives

Staff persons participating in this training will learn the following:

    1. The four components of the Jo-Hari Window
    2. The stages of group dynamics that impact on a team
    3. Four learning styles and how to identify them
    4. The methods of consensus and other group decision making
    5. The components of the Master Mind Principles and how to implement them in the workplace.

Methods

A variety of methods will be used through out the training although most will involve large and small group interaction as a way to experience team building as part of the process. This training uses the following techniques:

    1. Brief instruction.
    2. Individual writing/ discovery exercises.
    3. Small group experiences
    4. Large group experiences
    5. Non-competitive games

Outcomes

Staff who complete the full day of training will:

  1. Be able to identify the strengths and talents they uniquely bring to a group
  2. Identify their own individual learning style and recognize the styles of others.
  3. Understand the dynamics and stages of a group that impact on team building.
  4. Experience the components of a Master Mind group and its value in achieving individual accountability and team synergy.
  5. Have a better sense of relationship and morale with their co-workers.
